Sharon Barnes, director of Roanoke Baldwin Online and Adult Programs Center

With SandraBagbey and KariFrenz, participated in the National ACHE Meeting inLasVegas in late October. Barnes, Bagbey, and Frenz are members of the Mid-Atlantic Planning Committee for spring 2015. Barnes completed a year-long commitment to the ACHE Mentor Program. Frenz served as a session presiderand continues as the treasurer of the Mid-Atlantic region.

Attended the State AAUP Executive Committee meeting hosted by on October 25. She serves as state chair on the committee for faculty governance.

In collaboration with her colleague Judith Steel at Virginia Commonwealth University, presented “Using Experiential Anatomy and Cueing to Enhance the Dancer’s Integration of the Pelvis, Hip, and Lower Extremity” at the Annual Meeting of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science held in Basel, Switzerland in mid-October. This organization brings together healthcare practitioners and dance educators from around the world to share research related to healthy dance practices.
